The Ockstädter Kirschenberg is one of the most important areas for the (Κοινός) Φοινίκουρος (be careful not to confuse it with the Καρβουνιάρης). The (Κοινός) Φοινίκουρος is represented here with over 50 territories and is considered to be endangered in Hesse. Other birds you can see in this area are Στραβολαίμης, (Κοινό) Ξεφτέρι, Καμποδεντροβάτης, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι, Αετομάχος and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κουκουβάγια.

Parking lot for the Usa-Wellenbad (swimming pool) in Bad Nauheim or in the village of Ockstadt. Bus line FB32 to the bus stop "Friedberg (Hessen) - Ockstadt Am Kirschenberg". There are many roads and paths running through the area. On the map you see an example of a circular trail of 4 km.
