Naturschutzgebiet Mönchbruch is characterised by its diverse habitat of old oaks, wet meadows, alder woodland and water ditches. The area has good populations of Μαυρολαίμης and Μεσαίος Δρυοκολάπτης. Other species that can be observed here are (Βουβός) Κύκνος, Σταχτόχηνα, Στραβολαίμης, (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι, (Κοινή) Σιταρήθρα , Μαύρος Δρυοκολάπτης, Σταχτής Δρυοκολάπτης, Αετομάχος, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη, Δεντροτσοπανάκος,Τσίφτης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Σφηκιάρης and Δεντρογέρακο.

The best way to reach the nature reserve Mönchbruch is via the main road 486 (B 486) and park at Jagdschloß Mönchbruch (Mönchbruch hunting castle). Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 3,5 km.
