Description

The Mühlfeldsee is the artificial lake of the gravel pit Kiessandtagebau Löbnitz. The area hosts a variety of bird species. Among those are a large colony of Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος , a colony of Σταχτοτσικνιάς and other species such as Μαυροκέφαλος Γλάρος , Θυελλόγλαρος , Ασημόγλαρος της Μεσογείου , (Ευρασιατικό) Φερεντίνι and Υφάντρα.

Access

The Mühlfeldsee is located directly south of the town of Löbnitz. The lake is best accessed from the east. There is also a possibility to access it from the north, but it is through a gated holiday home complex.

To my knowledge, it isn't feasible to walk or bike a circular path, partly because of the Baustoffwerk Löbnitz in the southwest still being active.
