The lookout from the Moorochse tower is ideal in the morning, as from midday onwards there is backlighting and therefore reflections in the water. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη regularly hunt here and the large number of (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος make them a popular hunting target for (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός. Other birds you can encounter are (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός, Καπακλής, Λευκοσουσουράδα, Αργυροτσικνιάς, Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα, Αρκοπετείναρο, (Βουβός) Κύκνος and (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι.

Access
The Moorochse observation tower is situated on the banks of the lake Plauer See, 9 km north of the town of Plau am See. Park at the nature center Karower Meiler. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is 1.7 km on foot or by bike to the observation tower.
