The Mittlere Horloffaue is an important marsh and wetland area. Various breeding, migratory, resting and winter birds are regularly present in the Mittlere Horloffaue. As breeding birds you can find here Λευκός Πελαργός, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, Γαλαζολαίμης and Τσιφτάς. On migration you can see (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός and different spieces of waterbird. As winter guests you can see Ασπρομέτωπη Χήνα and Χωραφόχηνα.
