Nice area with wet meadows and productive surrounding forests. Very good for Μαυρολαίμης and Λιβαδοκελάδα and all kinds of birds of prey.

Description

Especially on warm summer days the area is good for all kinds of raptors as they breed in the surrounding forests like Scheidebusch, Kannenbruch, Grönauer Heide. Woodpeckers, Φασσοπερίστερο, Λευκός Πελαργός or (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός pass by frequently. In the evening the call of up to 3 (Ευρασιατική) Μπεκάτσα is not unusual, sometimes (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι too. Typicall breeding species are (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός, Μαυρολαίμης, (Κοινή) Σιταρήθρα, Καστανολαίμης, Αετομάχος and Λιβαδοκελάδα.

Access

There is a bus going to the village of Krummesse. Then walk. You can also take the car till the red and white "no entry sign". A bike is fine too.
