Description
Jröne Meerke (little green sea) is a small park with a pond at the north-western edge of the city of Neuss. It contains the only Western European colony of Λευκόχηνα. Depending on the season there are also numerous other waterfowl, such as Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια, Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια, Καπακλής, (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος, Αρκοπετείναρο or (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα. There are many trees and a small forest in the park that host numerous songbirds, including (Κοινή) Τσίχλα, Γερακότσιχλα, Δεντροτσοπανάκος, (Κοινός) Σπίνος, (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Φλώρος, Κοκκινολαίμης, Γαλαζοπαπαδίτσα, Καλόγερος and many more. If you want to see the Λευκόχηνα, you should come in the early morning or before sunset as the geese often go out to the surrounding fields for feeding.
