A small dammed lake that is filled by the Wahnbach and regularly attracts various species of birds.
The Herrenteich attracts various waders (Ποταμοσφυριχτής, Πρασινοσκέλης, Μαυρότρυγγας, Λασπότρυγγας, Δασότρυγγας, (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι), especially during migration times. These birds are less common regionally. You can often see the (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη, Σταχτοσουσουράδα, Τσίφτης, Ψαλιδιάρης and various ducks and geese. From time to time Μαύρος Πελαργός, (Κοινό) Ξεφτέρι, Διπλοσάϊνο are flying over. Now and then, Ψαραετός, Καλαμόκιρκος, and Δεντρογέρακο can also be seen.
The area can be seen from two sides and the footbridges can be walked on. One side of the lake is overgrown with trees. Another is covered with reeds.
The area is best explored on foot and free parking is available directly in front of the lake at the inn. The footbridges are freely accessible and you can enjoy a drink while watching.
