Description

Grube Cox has mixed forest with lakes and ponds. Καπακλής, Γκισάρι and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος spend the winter on the lakes. Γερακότσιχλα can be seen in the poplars on the edges of the lake. In the forest, with a bit of luck, there are Νανοδρυοκολάπτης , Μεσαίος Δρυοκολάπτης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κοκκοθραύστης and (Κοινός) Πύρρουλας.

In winter Κοκκινότσιχλα and Χειμωνόσπινος can also be seen. At night you can see (Ευρασιατική) Μπεκάτσα, hear Χουχουριστής call and very occasionally (Κοινός) Μπούφος. During migration I saw Ψαραετός hunt, but it is rare to observe them here. From a herpetological point of view, it is also worth a visit, as you can observe sand lizards, grass snakes and common midwife toad here.
