Description

As part of the large-scale nature conservation project "Peenetal / Peene-Haff-Moor", the former polder in the Große Rosin was abandoned and the area was permanently flooded. From the observation tower near restaurant Aalbude and the two observation platforms, which are located at the dam to the Aalbude, you have a wide view over this extensive water landscape. Birds can be observed at any time of the year, but the biggest peak of birds is during autumn migration when thousands of geese and other migratory birds stop here to rest. Αργυροτσικνιάς, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, Ποταμογλάρονο, Κοκκινοβουτηχτάρι, Μαυροβουτηχτάρι, Κοκκινοσκέλης, Μαχητής, Καλαμοτριλιστής and Μουστακαλής can be spotted in the shallow water and reed beds. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη whizzes around. Above all this Ψαραετός and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός circle to look for prey.
