Description
The typical species of a city can be seen at the Decksteiner Weiher in summer. On the lake Canada Goose, Φοινικόσιηνα, Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι and Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια can be seen. Around the lake you can observe Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης, (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα, Μεσαίος Δρυοκολάπτης and much more. In winter, however, more rare duck species such as Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια, Γκισάρι, Καπακλής and with a bit of luck also (Ευρωπαϊκη) Βαλτόπαπια can be found.

Decksteiner Weiher is easy to reach by bike from Cologne (Köln). You can also get there easily by car. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. A circular walk around the lake is about 5 km.
