Description
Böhmerweiher consists of two lakes. The smaller lake supports (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι, Αρκοπετείναρο and (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα. (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι overwinter here. The larger lake often attracts visiting waterfowl in the winter: Σταχτόχηνα, Καπακλής, Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι, more rarely (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι, Βαρβάρα or Χηνοπρίστης. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη fish in both ponds.
In the gravel areas and streams surrounding the lakes Χρυσοτσίχλονο and Θαμνοφυλλοσκόπος sing from the bushes. Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης feed on the ants. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα skulks on the banks. Καλαμοποταμίδα and (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο populate the reeds in the spring and summer. Occasional visitors like the Τσαλαπετεινός can surprise you by stopping to rest during their migration.
(Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι sometimes forage in the wet fields surrounding Böhmerweiher. And sometimes Πετρίτης hunt for prey.
