The Altes Feld (Old Field) near Dainrode was the largest Hessian resting place for (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα in the 1970s with daily maximums (resting population) of around 14,000. Up to 600 (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βροχοπούλι. Rare Βουνοσφυριχτής. Large numbers of raptors, sometimes over 50 Ψαλιδιάρης and 100 (Κοινή) Γερακίνα. The Χιονογερακίνα is an occasional migrant and winter guest. In the cold winter of 86/87 up to 20 individuals. Χειμωνόκιρκος, Καλαμόκιρκος, Νανογέρακο and Χιονοτσίχλονο regularly. Sometimes (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός rest, often thousands of them migrating. Maximum numbers: (Κοινή) Σιταρήθρα 10,000, Κεδρότσιχλα 10,000, Κοκκινότσιχλα 6,000, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψαρόνι 200,000, Λιβαδοκελάδα 2,000.

Altes Feld located near the village of Dainrode. The area is crossed by the B 253 and is very easy to reach. Driving on dirt roads is forbidden, but is probably never checked.
