Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Ποταμοσφυριχτής and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κουκουβάγια (10 territories in 2020). Αετομάχος and Θαμνοτριλιστής are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding (Κοινό) Αηδόνι , (Ευρωπαϊκός) Συκοφάγος and Μεσαίος Δρυοκολάπτης. You can also see Τσίφτης and Δεντρογέρακο during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Καλαμοποταμίδα and Βαλτοποταμίδα (also common next to the Ahr). Ορφεοστριτσίδα and Κιτρινοστριτσίδα can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Ψαραετός and Δασότρυγγας. In winter you can see some wintering birds like (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
