Artificial lake and former gravel-pit in the Seine River Valley, along a major road. It is possible to walk a path along the lake to watch waterbirds.
Plan d'eau de la Ville Saint Jacques holds a colony of Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος and Μαυροκέφαλος Γλάρος. (Ευρασιατικό) Φερεντίνι are usually very numerous and breed here, as do Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια. Flocks of Γκισάρι and Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια may attract the rare (Ευρωπαϊκη) Βαλτόπαπια. Μαυροβουτηχτάρι are very regular. Waders make regularly stopovers on the lakes shores. Even Βαλτότρυγγας has been seen here.
Easy accessible by car. After parking you can explore the area on foot. Park at the start of the path on the western part of the lake, and follow it on it's southern shore. It is quite dangerous to park elsewhere along the D606. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking.
