Description

The legendary Mont Ventoux, which rises to a height of 1,912 metres, is feared by cyclists. Rising above the Provence the top of the mountain has a lunar-like landscape. In clear weather, you have an exceptional 360-degree panorama over the entire Alps range, the Massif Central and the Cévennes, the lower Rhône Valley and Avignon, the Camargue, the Crau plain and even the Mediterranean Sea. Around the summit several interesting birds can be observed. Watch out for Φιδαετός, Πετρίτης, Χρυσαετός, Όρνιο, (Κοινή) Σταχτάρα, Βουνοσταχτάρα, Σταχτοπετρόκλης, Χιονοψάλτης (in winter) Βουνοσφυριχτής (mostly August and September), Κιτρινοκαλιακούδα (January to April), Χιονοκότσυφας (spring and autumn), (Κοινός) Κόρακας, Citril Finch, Βουνοτσίχλονο, Καρβουνιάρης and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βραχοχελίδονο.
