Description
A set of 5 ponds where you can see an average of 30 bird species over 4.5 km in two hours. 151 species have been observed there in the last 10 years. Aquatic birds are very present there including 3 species of nesting ducks Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια, Γκισάρι, Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια as well as other nesting species Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι, (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα, Αρκοπετείναρο, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη.
The herons are very present with Σταχτοτσικνιάς, Γελαδάρης, in winter Αργυροτσικνιάς and all year round (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς. The Ποταμογλάρονο is a breeder in some years and in summer there are many Ακτίτης passing by. In winter Δασότρυγγας as well as (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι are often present.
The ponds are located in the middle of the hedged countryside, which explains the presence of bird species from this environment rich in trees and hedges like (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι, (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, (Κοινή) Φάσσα, Βραχοκιρκίνεζο, (Κοινή) Γερακίνα, Γκισάρι, (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα, Αρκοπετείναρο. There is no shortage of passerines in winter like Λιβαδοκελάδα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκελάδα.

Français: Un ensemble de 5 étangs en région de bocage. Promenade bien aménagée autour des étangs permettant de voir sur 4,5 km en deux heures de temps une trentaine d'espèces d'oiseaux en moyenne . 151 espèces y ont été observées ces 10 dernières années.

Les ardeidae y sont bien présents du fait d'une héronnière proche Σταχτοτσικνιάς, Γελαδάρης la présence est fréquente l'hiver pour la Αργυροτσικνιάς et toute l'année pour (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς
La Ποταμογλάρονο est nicheuse certaines années et l'été il y a de nombreux Ακτίτης de passage. L'hiver le Δασότρυγγας ainsi que la (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι sont souvent présents
Les étangs sont situés en plein bocage ce qui expliquent la présence d'espèces d'oiseaux de ce milieu riche en arbres et en haies.(Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, (Κοινή) Φάσσα, Βραχοκιρκίνεζο, (Κοινή) Γερακίνα, Γκισάρι, (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα, Αρκοπετείναρο

Near MONCOUTANT on the road to Niort go towards the indication PESCALIS which is a fishing site open free to walkers and favorable to the presence of birds. There are several parking spaces. It is possible to tour the ponds on foot or by bicycle, depending on the season you will see different species of birds. Some are in large numbers in winter when the ponds are drained Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος, Αργυροτσικνιάς, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος Δασότρυγγας (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκελάδα In spring certain species are easily spotted by their song (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι, Μαυροσκούφης.

Français: Près de MONCOUTANT sur la route de Niort se diriger vers l'indication PESCALIS qui est un site de pêche ouvert gratuitement aux promeneurs et favorable à la présence des oiseaux. Plusieurs parking pour autos sont possibles sur le site. Il est possible de faire le tour des étangs à pied ou en bicyclette.Selon les saisons vous y verrez différentes espèces d'oiseaux. Certaines sont en grand nombre l'hiver lors de la vidange des étangs Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος, Αργυροτσικνιάς, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος, Δασότρυγγας, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκελάδα.

The site is interesting throughout the year. You are sure to see about thirty species on average when you go around the ponds in about two to three hours of walking time. There may be surprises depending on the season such as: (Κοινός) Νυχτοκόρακας, Πορφυροτσικνιάς, Ψαραετός, Σταχτόχηνα, Καλαμοκανάς, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, Μαυρογλάρονο, Μουστακογλάρονο, (Ευρασιατική) Μπεκάτσα, Μαύρος Πελαργός.
