Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Γαλαζολαίμης, Τσιχλοποταμίδα, Σχοινοποταμίδα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μικροτσικνιάς, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα and Καλαμόκιρκος. Υφάντρα has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests (Κοινός) Πύρρουλας, Δεντρογέρακο, Θαμνοφυλλοσκόπος and Τσίφτης are quite easy to see. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Πετροτουρλίδα and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
