Etangs de Sanguinet et Biscarosse are two lakes that attract numerous wintering species (October-March). They are part of the coastal lake chain - stretching from Hourtin lake to the mouth of Adour - that are really worth a visit in autumn and winter. Among the birds you can encounter are Χειμωνοβουτηχτάρι, Μαυροβουτηχτάρι, Λαμπροβούτι, Κηλιδοβούτι, Παγοβούτι, Θαλασσοπρίστης, Σταχτόπαπια, Βελουδόπαπια, Ασημόγλαρος της Κασπίας and (Ευρασιατικός) Ήταυρος.
