In my opinion, Etang du Charnier is the best spot for Σουλτανοπουλάδα in the Camargue, one time I saw 16 of them. It is also a very nice spot for (Ευρωπαϊκό) Νανογλάρονο, Γελογλάρονο and Ποταμογλάρονο. With much luck, you can spot (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μικροτσικνιάς. It is also a very good spot for (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς. In the whole area, you can see up to 100 on one day. The Σουλτανοπουλάδα likes small branches of reeds, but also sits in reeds or on muddy areas next to some reeds.

I would suggest to go by car, because the area is located on a busy road with cars going up to 100km/h. But there are also small parking gapes where you can watch the birds.
