The Capbreton Casino Waterfront is an excellent seawatching spot during autumn migration. Especially during eastward incoming storms. Κόκκινος Φαλαρόποδας, Γαλαζόραμφος Ληστόγλαρος, Γερακοληστόγλαρος, Sabine's Gull, Καπελόμυχος, Sooty Shearwater, Μύχος των Βαλεαρίδων, Υδροβάτης, Leach's Storm Petrel, Μαυρογλάρονο and Χιονογλάρονο are the target species when strong westerlies blow individuals to the beach.
Hossegor Lake is to check during autumn gales as Leach's Storm Petrel and other pelagic birds can seek shelter in the lake. The lake is also used as a roosting place for gulls in winter
