Ruusuniemi is a nice place for observing waterfowl as they swim around the area or fly by. Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια , (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα , Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια , (Βουβός) Κύκνος , Canada Goose , Αγριόκυκνος , Χηνοπρίστης and Θαλασσοπρίστης are a common sight from this spot. Birders have also sighted Νανοπρίστης among other duck species and Αργυροτσικνιάς flying by. There's also a bird feeding spot in a walking distance during winter times.
