After the dikes broke during a storm Aage V. Jensen Naturfond started buying up land and restored it to a wading bird paradise.
A large part of the area was purchased by Aage V. Jensen Naturfond and restored. It is is almost permanently flooded but the waters are shallow. Cattle graze during summer, keeping vegetation low. Birds have responded by massing in the area so it is a brilliant spot for birdwatching. During the migration season, large flocks of waders stop off here.
Two parking lots on Lammesøvej, one just before the dam, and one just after.
