In Pisarovina Fish Ponds 183 species of bird have been recorded on ebird. See link below. This includes 3 species of shrike, 2 crakes, Μαύρος Πελαργός, Λευκός Πελαργός, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός and Κραυγαετός. Also (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, Μαυρογλάρονο, Κιτρινοστριτσίδα, Μαυρολαίμης, Ποταμοτριλιστής in summer. (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, Θαλασσοπρίστης, egrets, (Ξανθός) Κρυπτοτσικνιάς, (Ευρωπαϊκη) Βαλτόπαπια on the waters.
Roe deer, beech marten, otter, wild boar, wildcat, snow vole, edible dormouse and 12 species of bat may also be present.

Access
Located between the Kupa river and the Draganic forest, on the D36 highway, 25 km northeast of Karlovac, and 25 km south of Zagreb. There are small laybys on the D36 marked on the map, one with a walkway access to the water, an offroad track (see photo) just south of Varionika brewery, and a car park on Ul. Vladimira Nazora, opposite Jamnica - enquire there about permission. It gets very dry here in summer and may flood in winter.
