The ponds of Bellefroid are two lakes north of the city of Leuven.
At the entrance of the Vijvers van Bellefroid (Ponds of Bellefroid) a path takes you to the two lakes. The path doesn't circle the waters entirely, but you should get a good look on both of them from walking the path. At the second lake there is a bird watching screen. A lot of ducks and herons frequent the water while songbirds like Αιγίθαλος and Κοκκινολαίμης can be found in the trees surrounding the water. Also the (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος reside in the area.
There is one parking spot near the entrance. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The area itself can only be explored on foot.
