Bolveerput is a site that spontaneously developed over the years with reeds, shrubs, open zones, storage with taller trees such as willow. (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι breeds annually in the area with sometimes 3 or 4 couples. in the open bushes you can find species such as Θαμνοτσιροβάκος and (Κοινός) Σπίνος and different smaller songbirds. It is a place where you can still find Βαλτοποταμίδα in the breeding season. In the winter period you can especially find the various tits such as Καλόγερος, Γαλαζοπαπαδίτσα and with if you are lucky Βουνοπαπαδίτσα.

Nederlands: De Bolveerput is een voormalig baggerwinningsgebied. Aan de buitenkant van het gebied liggen hogere dijken waar je over kunt wandelen, met in het midden enkele oversteekplaatsen. Het terrein is in de loop der jaren spontaan ontwikkeld met riet, struiken, open zones, opslag met hogere bomen zoals wilg. (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι broedt jaarlijks in het gebied met soms 3 of 4 koppels. In de open struiken vind je soorten zoals Θαμνοτσιροβάκος en (Κοινός) Σπίνος en verschillende kleinere zangers. Het is een plek waar je in het broedseizoen nog steeds Βαλτοποταμίδα kunt vinden. In de winterperiode kun je vooral de verschillende mezen Καλόγερος, Γαλαζοπαπαδίτσα en met geluk Βουνοπαπαδίτσα vinden.

Access
The Bolveerput is located about 14 km south of Ghent. The area is only accessible on foot and the walking paths are mowed annually between February and the end of September. There are walking locks at the entrances. Parking is possible along the public road "Sluis". A bicycle can be tied to the wooden barriers around the area. You need at least half an hour to complete the walking loop (1,5 km) at normal walking speed. The area is managed by Agency Nature & Forest.

Nederlands: De Bolveerput ligt ongeveer 14 km ten zuiden van Gent. Het gebied is enkel te voet toegankelijk en de wandelpaden worden jaarlijks gemaaid tussen februari en eind september. Er zijn wandelsluizen bij de ingangen. Parkeren kan langs de openbare weg "Sluis". Een fiets kan worden vastgebonden aan de houten afsluitingen rond het gebied. Om de wandellus (1,5 km) op normaal wandeltempo te voltooien, heb je minstens een half uur nodig. Het gebied wordt beheerd door Agentschap Natuur & Bos.
