Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Κεδρότσιχλα, Θαμνοφυλλοσκόπος, Χηνοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη, Δασότρυγγας, Κιτρινοστριτσίδα Μαυροσκούφης, Νανοδρυοκολάπτης and both Βουνοδεντροβάτης and Καμποδεντροβάτης and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα, (Κοινό) Λούγαρο, and in late winter Χειμωνόσπινος.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Καστανολαίμης here and with some luck Τσίφτης. On the pond you can see (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο, Καλαμοποταμίδα, Τσιχλοποταμίδα and Σχοινοποταμίδα.
