Nice wetland and lake area with a lot of ducks and other aquatic birds across the year. Very easy to get to and view birds from.
The Brick Pits Wetlands is a nice small wetland area which is quite a lot lower than the road in, which makes for good viewing across the entire water area. Some more interesting birds around include Yellow-billed Spoonbill, Chestnut Teal, Musk Duck and Black-fronted Dotterel. Plumed Whistling-Duck have also stopped here over a few weeks in summer months.
Brick Pits Wetlands is located just out of Bathurst, New South Wales. Turn off Hereford Street onto Edgells lane which is a dirt road, drive a minute down the road and youll find the gate and car park. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. You can go through the gate and straight out to look across the water.
