Beschreibung
Located in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors, Greylake is a flat wetland with good paths and reedbed. Thanks to all the water, you can see Kiebitz, Rotschenkel and Bekassine nesting in the spring. Smaller birds such as Schilfrohrsänger, Wiesenschafstelze and Rohrammer can be heard and seen singing from the trails.
Over winter, vast flocks of ducks and waders, being hunted by birds of prey. Kiebitz and Goldregenpfeifer are sometimes joined by Alpenstrandläufer, Kampfläufer and Uferschnepfe. Large flocks of Pfeifente, Krickente and smaller groups of Löffelente, Schnatterente and Spießente feed in front of the hides. Wanderfalke and Rohrweihe are seen regularly and Merlin and Kornweihe occasionally.
