Beschreibung

Set in the heart of mid Wales, Gwenffrwd-Dinas nestles along steep sided valleys clothed in woodland and bisected by fast flowing rivers. The reserve contains important habitats of oak woodland, wet alder woodland and scrubland subject to high levels of rainfall and with fast flowing rivers. Beautiful scenery and good for birds - Trauerschnäpper nesting site, all common woodland species plus Wasseramsel and Gebirgsstelze on river section.

Zugang

From Llandovery follow signs for Rhandirmwyn and Lyn Brianne. Look for small church on the left and RSPB car park just after. Good parking, toilets usually. There is an approximate 2 mile (3km) circular trail which starts from the carpark with about 300m of boardwalk with steps and some gaps at the start. After the boardwalk the path continues along the riverbank and through woodland. Some of the trail is flat and the surface is compacted earth, however much of the route is adjacent to the river Tywi and is rugged, uneven, rocky and slippery in places when wet. It is recommended that this section is best attempted by those who are able bodied and used to rough hill walking. Information boards in large print.
