This is a favourite place with birders in Scotland. In Spring and early Summer there are Prachttaucher on the loch and Fischadler fish here. In the surrounding area there are both Schottischen Moorschneehuhn and Schwarzkehlchen, assorted raptors, and Sturmmöwe breed here in summer. You may also see Großer Brachvogel and Kiebitz. There are some Mountain Hare present in Winter.

Zugang
Access by Car or Bike. Easy to find from Carrbridge / Grantown on Spey / Inverness. For parking there are several pull-ins off the road. Do not block passing places or entrances.
Park the car, and there are tracks that can can be followed on foot, but no circular route.
