Bridgewater Bay Nature Reserve is on the coast of North Somerset.

Bridgewater Bay Nature Reserve (Steart Point), is part of Bridgewater Bay National Nature Reserve, offshore is a very large area of mudflats better known by British birdwatchers for it's population of Brandgans, that come here to molt annually. On land it comprises of farmland and muddy fringed pools. At it's Northern end is a VERY LARGE TOWER HIDE that gives excellent views over the surrounding area. BE AWARE some paths are closed during WINTER to avoid disturbance to feeding birds and others during SUMMER to avoid nesting birds, see map and click on STARS (WINTER IS 30th SEPTEMBER - 1st APRIL). As well as the many birds on land, be sure to check the areas offshore for Seaducks/Divers/Grebes and other Seabirds especially at high tide. **NOTE THE FOLLOWING MAP IS MANDATORY WINTER ROUTE**

Zugang

The M5 motorway that runs North to South is just to to the East, come off motorway at junction 24 at Bridgewater, take A39 towards Cannington. At Cannington take second exit at roundabout (called Main Road) to town centre, just after a sharp Left turn take first Right into Rodway ( signed Hinkley Point). After approximately 2 Miles take a Right turn into Stockland Bristol Road. This minor road leads into Steart Drove, continue along this road passing WWT Steart Marsh until you reach a car park on the Left overlooking the main part of Bridgewater Bay. The walking route indicated on the map is 6,6 km long.
