The big uppside with Stavstensudde may not be the amount of waders but how close you get to the birds. From the shelter one can get a very good view.
During migration from mid april to early june, and late july to early october this is a nice site for watching a good variety of shorebirds. For example Steinwälzer, Zwergstrandläufer, Sanderling, Knutt, Kampfläufer, Sumpfläufer, Temminckstrandläufer, Pfuhlschnepfe and Kiebitzregenpfeifer. Also several pairs of Zwergseeschwalbe are breeding.
Rarities that have been seen here are Seeregenpfeifer, Tibetregenpfeifer, Teichwasserläufer, Kleiner Gelbschenkel and Graubrust-Strandläufer.
In winter time islandic Rotschenkel and northern Sandregenpfeifer and sometimes Meerstrandläufer can be seen.

Zugang
If going by bus, take number 1 from Trelleborg train staion to Trelleborg Drivgarnet and walk. Unfortunately its a quite long walk but the last bit you can walk by the sea.
If going by car follow road E6 and turn S towards Fredshög and Stavstensudde.
