Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Wasserralle, Teichhuhn, Bachstelze, Flußregenpfeifer, Uferschwalbe, Eisvogel, Flußuferläufer and Schellente.
