Beschreibung

The bird observation platform at Pilkrogsviken is located along the shores of the Baltic Sea. Pilkrogsviken is a bay surrounded by coastal meadows where the river Moraån also flows into the sea. The bay is known for its rich bird life. If you walk along the path from the parking you will reach the bird observation platform that offers a view of the bay. Among the birds you can encounter are Graugans, Höckerschwan, Singschwan, Schellente, Gänsesäger, Eisvogel, Alpenstrandläufer, Kampfläufer, Grünschenkel, Bekassine, Sandregenpfeifer, Kiebitz and Fischadler.

Zugang

Pilkrogsviken is located just east of Järna town along road 525 towards Nyköping and here there is parking for approximately six cars. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking place. The nearest bus stop is close, from there it is about 100 meters until the parking lot. From the parking it's a 400 m walk on a gravel path to the bird platform.

Parking, path and bird tower are adapted to accessibility so that they can be used by all. At the bird platform, there are two picnic tables. One accessible right by the tower and one which stands some distance from the water. In the tower is also a simpler bench.
