The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. Weißwangengans, Graugans, and Kanadagans all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of Zwerggans. Other geese like Bläßgans, Saatgans, Kurzschnabelgans can often be found. Some years Tundrasaatgans and Ringelgans are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like Dunkler Wasserläufer, Rotschenkel, Flußregenpfeifer (breeds), Austernfischer (breeds), and Kampfläufer. The lake holds large amounts of Stockente and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like Schnatterente, Löffelente and Knäkente. Smaller amounts of diving ducks can often be found. Wintering Seidenschwanz and Hakengimpel are often found. Although the numbers vary widely.

The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
