Beschreibung

Gnien is a lake surrounded by wet meadows. Kolbäcksån becomes a lake at Gnien. Here the width of the river changes according to how much water flows into the river. This means that the meadows overflow every year, which many birds like. During spring and autumn, lots of swans, ducks and waders can be found in Gnien. Many birds also breed in the area. Among the birds you can see are Seeadler, Fischadler, Feldlerche, Wiesenschafstelze, Löffelente, Pfeifente, Schellente, Kranich, Bekassine, Dunkler Wasserläufer, Grünschenkel and Bruchwasserläufer. From the high bird observation tower you get good views of the water and the surrounding meadows. You can see many bird species here throughout the year. A great sight and sound are the Singschwan in spring and autumn.
