Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as Wiesenweihe, Zwergtrappe and Triel breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include Rothuhn, Gänsegeier, Schlangenadler, Zwergadler, Rotmilan, Wiedehopf, Iberienraubwürger, Kalanderlerche, Turmfalke and Grauammer. Sometimes Spanischer Kaiseradler is observed.
