Monte El Viejo is characterized by being mostly a holm oak grove with some areas of gall oak and more or less open areas of scrub (mainly rockrose and aromatic species). Some forest species that we can find are Buntspecht, Grünspecht, Waldkauz, Zwergohreule, Sommergoldhähnchen, Berglaubsänger, Eichelhäher, Zwergadler, Weißbart-Grasmücke, etc. In the open areas we can find Theklalerche, Provencegrasmücke and Heidelerche, among others. There are various paths that run through it, which you can travel on foot or by bicycle.
