The Manzanares river is an ideal place to go birding without having to leave the city of Madrid. You can find an extensive range of bird species. From small birds to waders, birds of prey or waterfowl, in the middle of the city. Among the birds that you can observe in the area are Seidensänger, Grünspecht, Graureiher, Orpheusgrasmücke, Pfeifente, Stieglitz, Weißstorch, Flußregenpfeifer, Eisvogel and Samtkopf-Grasmücke.

Espagnol: Gracias a su remodelaje, forma un importante enclave en cuanto a biodiversidad, llenándose la ribera de gran número de especies. Un lugar ideal para pajarear sin necesidad de salir de la ciudad, donde podremos encontrar un extenso abanico en avistamientos de especies, desde pequeños pajaritos hasta limícolas, rapaces o aves acuáticas, todo un sin fin de sonido y colorido, que no dejará de sorprendernos al estar en plena ciudad. The Manzanares river is easy accessible from Madrid through the Príncipe Pío interchange, where you can use the metro, trains or buses. Once you arrive at Príncipe Pío, it is already close to the riverbank.
