Beschreibung
The Belchite steppes are one of the steppe areas best known to bird watchers due to the emblematic steppe bird species which live here. The El Planeron reserve is essential for its diversity of species and for protecting the rare Dupontlerche. One of the larges populations in the whole of Europe is found here. But you can also see species such as Kurzzehenlerche, Maurensteinschmätzer, Sandflughuhn or Triel. During the winter season, you can see large wintering flocks of species such as Spießflughuhn, Kalanderlerche or Stummellerche. Birds of prey, such as the Steinadler, Wiesenweihe, Kornweihe and Rohrweihe and Steinkauz are also found.
