EDAR Alhama de Murcia attracts rare species such as Weißkopf-Ruderente or Moorente. It is home to wintering species such as Löffler, Blaukehlchen, Tafelente and Rohrammer, among other birds. Summer species such as Drosselrohrsänger and Teichrohrsänger, among others. It is a place of interest during migration also. Other birds that can be spotted are Löffelente, Krickente, Stelzenläufer, Flußregenpfeifer, Purpurhuhn, Bekassine, Sichler, Nachtreiher, Schilfrohrsänger, Nachtigall, Triel and Rohrweihe.
