The surroundings of Alcantarilla Air Base are interesting especially during migratory passages. Raptors can be observed migrating through the Guadalentín valley and many passerines that make a stop here can be observed. Among the birds that can be spotted are Kurzzehenlerche, Haubenlerche, Wachtel, Triel, Grauammer, Mönchsgrasmücke, Wiesenschafstelze, Schwarzkehlchen, Braunkehlchen, Goldregenpfeifer, Turteltaube, Waldwasserläufer and Kuhreiher.
