Bay where you can observe Mittelmeermöwe and by the rocks Regenbrachvogel. In the desert area inland you can observe Felsenhuhn.
Bajo Negro is located near several biotopes. The first one is the sea. At sea here you will find Mittelmeermöwe and rarely Heringsmöwe. If you are lucky, also Basstölpel or Gelbschnabelsturmtaucher. Another setting is the beach. You can easily see Sanderling. If you continue further, you will reach the dunes. In the desert area inland the Felsenhuhn is found, Stummellerche and Kanarenpieper.
The location is walkable. The advantage is that it is located right next to a hotel, where you can park, and where there are sometimes Kanarenschmätzer. Click on the P in the map for directions.
During a visit or two in November 2021 I saw Triel, Iberienraubwürger, Brillengrasmücke in the desert area and on the beach Löffler, Pfuhlschnepfe, Seeregenpfeifer, Kiebitzregenpfeifer as well as other mentioned species. The north end of Corralejo is worth exploring too. Wüstengimpel quite common here.
Hello Dave, congratulations on a beautiful observation. I have seen some of the species you mentioned, such as Pfuhlschnepfe or Löffler in Corralejo. But I didn't come across Triel here at all. However, I was only here for 10 days in February 2022 and I know I didn't see a lot of species (like the Saharakragentrappe that was reported here). Someone even saw a Basstölpel here. Thank you for your response. Michal.
