Beschreibung
Vršac Mountains are fully covered with deciduous forests, mainly oak, linden, and acacia, with some patches of beech and maple. In spring, linden and acacia give the whole surroundings a pleasant fragrance. On the west end of the 19 km long mountain range lies the town of Vršac, while the east end has mild slopes that are partly on the other side of the Romanian border.
Vršac Mountains are known to host many birds of prey species, like Wespenbussard, Mäusebussard, Schlangenadler, Schreiadler, Sperber, Turmfalke and Baumfalke. Interesting birding spots include Sočica, Mesić, and Malo Središte ("Small Bullseye") villages and Lisičija Glava ("Fox's Head") and Gudurički Vrh peaks, while the Tower of Vršac has the best viewpoint in the area.
The area near Sočica and Mesić featureas open hilly landscape surreounded by forests, while area near Malo Središte and Tower of Vršac is mostly forested low-mountain slopes with occassional viewpoints from rocky stones.
