Beschreibung
The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as Spanischer Kaiseradler, Steinadler, and Habichtsadler, as well as Gänsegeier and Mönchsgeier. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like Zwergtrappe, Sandflughuhn, Rötelfalke, Blauracke, and also Maurensteinschmätzer and Theklalerche. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like Rotflügel-Brachschwalbe and Lachseeschwalbe during the breeding season.

The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
