Beschreibung
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Zwergtaucher, Haubentaucher and Rothalstaucher. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Spießente, Löffelente, Schnatterente, Knäkente and Krickente, and sometimes others. Eisvogel can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Bartmeise, Drosselrohrsänger, Beutelmeise, Teichrohrsänger and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Seeadler, Mäusebussard, Sperber and Habicht. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Grünschenkel, Bruchwasserläufer, Bekassine, Kampfläufer, Waldwasserläufer and Flußuferläufer being the most common ones.

One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
