Veidnes has a nice bird hide, and May, June, and August are particularly interesting periods. The migration of the Meerstrandläufer is a spectacular experience. A flock at the bird hide on Veidnes can number as many as 40,000 individuals. This takes place around the second half of May. For the rest of the year, resident birds can be observed, and there is also a chance to see overwintering species that have migrated in from the east. It is not uncommon for rare species to appear here. For example Großer Gelbschenkel and Weißbürzel-Strandläufer have been observed in the area.

Veidnes has a very isolated location on the Laksefjord side of the Nordkinn Peninsula. The road from Borselv to Vednes is 154 km round trip, but it is certainly worth the effort. From the parking lot to the bird hide, it is a 100-meter walk along an easy path. Press P on the map for directions.
