Lonåsen is a small village in Tunndalen, at the confluence of the rivers Tunna and Lona, about 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Tynset. The village is surrounded by forest and tundra. I stayed here for a month in the winter months of December and January. I regularly saw woodpecker species such as Buntspecht but also Dreizehenspecht and Grauspecht. In addition, Grouse such as Alpenschneehuhn, Birkhuhn and Auerhuhn. Finch species such as the Kernbeißer and Gimpel. Furthermore, many Kleiber, Weidenmeise, Grünfink, Taigabirkenzeisig, Tannenmeise, Wintergoldhähnchen, Kolkrabe and Feldsperling.
