Beschreibung
Fiskumvannet Nature Reserve is located in Øvre Eiker municipality and covers an area of 119 hectare. More than 240 bird species are observed at the lake. The flora is also very rich, and several threatened insects are found in the reserve. There is a bird tower in the northern end of the reserve which gives a good overview over the lake. Fiskumvannet is a 2.5 km long shallow and nutritious lake, surrounded by forest and cultivated land. It is among the best bird lakes in Eastern Norway. The northern and western shores in particular are swampy and flooded parts of the year, so very wet conditions that are attractive for many birds. Schellente, Gänsesäger, Singschwan, Goldammer and Bekassine are often seen. In summer you can see Fischadler en Rohrweihe hunting. Among the other birds you can see are Karmingimpel, Braunkehlchen, Rohrammer, Kurzschnabelgans, Krickente, Kiebitz, Grünschenkel, Feldlerche, Trauerschnäpper and Sprosser.

Zugang
In the northern end of the reserve you will find a bird tower that you can reach via a raised wooden path. Boots are only needed during more extreme flood periods. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the bird tower. From the parking it is a 600 meter walk to the observation tower.
